Mental Health First Aid

Each year 1 IN 10 Kenyans will experience a mental health illness. With rapid increase in suicides, mental health conditions, substance use and addictive disorders. In addition, stigma and discrimination contributes to and perpetuates mental ill health and marginalises persons with mental health conditions. Many people are not knowledgeable or confident to offer assistance. Physical first aid is accepted and widespread, however most do not cover mental health problems.

Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.
